Harre Records 400th Career Win
By Travis Volz
It was not as though Wayne Harre’s coaching resume needed any padding, but he managed to do just that over the weekend when he reached a milestone win.
With Harre at the helm, the Hornettes have won a state championship, qualified for state eight times and won 14 straight regional titles. And now in his 15th season on the bench, Harre collected his 400th coaching win.
“I think its a credit to a lot of people,” Harre said of reaching the 400-win plateau. “I’ve always had great kids playing for me, my coaching staff is second to none, the administration has always been great, and the community always supports us.”
A knowledge of how to win basketball also helps, and Harre clearly knows how to do that. His career winning percentage is .847, and no team of his has ever lost more than eight games.
