“A Weighty Matter”

“I’m pretty sure that is Florence “Flossie” Pleitner, said Gene Payne, who called the Nashville News. Payne suggested we contact historian Ralph McTall for more information. McTall actually contacted us independently before we could give him a call though.

“I think I took that picture actually,” McTall said, confirming that it was Pleitner, the Postmaster in Irvington who was with the postal service for 37 1/2 years.

McTall stated that Pleitner retired in April of 1972 (when the photo was taken) due to ill health.
