Kaskaskia College is proud to announce that on Tuesday, January 20, it will host its Annual Celebration honoring the contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Keynote speaker for the celebration will be Anita Brandon, the Director of the East St. Louis Community College Center.
Brandon, is a product of the St. Louis Public Schools, and holds a B.A. in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Education-Counseling from the University of Missouri, St. Louis. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Theological Studies at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri.
Anita Brandon enjoys a very busy and fruitful life: devoted wife, loving mother, church pastor, gospel music recording artist, seminary student, and more. She is the wife of the Honorable Judge W.C. Brandon, Jr. and mother of three adult children, Demarkus, Leah, and Devon. Most recently, Brandon has released a musical compilation of original gospel tunes entitled, “Sovereign”, and is organizing a Christian church in the small community of Centreville, Illinois. Brandon is also active with several community organizations and initiatives. As the Director of the East St. Louis Community College Center, Brandon is afforded daily opportunities to serve as a positive influence in the lives of many.
Brandon strives daily to represent her faith in all that she does. She and her husband, Walter, endeavor to be found faithful and exemplary in the work of helping others, as they gratefully enjoy life every day.
The morning will also highlight entertainment from Kaskaskia College students and staff.
The public is invited to join the students and staff at Kaskaskia College as we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The celebration will be held in the Jane Knight Auditorium at 9:15 a.m. For further information, call 618-545-3182.
