Mrs. Florence A. Gogolek of Nashville departed this life at Friendship Manor Healthcare Center in Nashville on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 5:25 p.m. She had attained the age of 93 years, eight months and 17 days.
Mrs. Gogolek was born on April 18, 1921 in DuBois, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Bochantin) Dalman. She was united in marriage to Theodore “Ted” Gogolek on May 30, 1942 at St. Charles Catholic Church in DuBois, and he preceded her in death on February 5, 1972.
Florence worked at Rockwell International in Centralia, and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Nashville, where she was active with the St. Ann Quilters.
Left to mourn her passing are her two sons, Leo Gogolek of Nashville and Ralph Gogolek and wife Rosemary of Posen; a brother, Daniel Dalman and wife Estelle of Mascoutah; two sisters, Christine Haper of Eldorado and Elaine Kedzo of St. Louis; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, Alex, Philip, Sylvester and Leo Dalman; three sisters, Martha McDonald, Jean Pietch and Dorothy Najewski; and two sisters in infancy, Caroline and Celestine.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church in Nashville on Thursday, January 8 at 10 a.m. with Fr. Andy Knopik officiating and with interment in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville on Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 7:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
The rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m.
Should friends desire mass offering or memorials may be made to the St. Ann Catholic School and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
