Spenner, 23, Of Hoyleton, Dies In Auto Wreck

A fatal motor vehicle accident occurred at approximately 7 a.m., on Monday, January 5, north of New Minden. Brian Carl Spenner, 23, of Hoyleton was killed in the wreck.

Spenner was the apparent restrained driver of a southbound vehicle. He lost control in a curve and ran the vehicle off of the road, rolling numerous times before coming to rest.

Spenner was pronounced dead at the scene by Washington County Coroner Mark Styninger at 7:20 a.m.

Scott Spenner, a passenger in the vehicle, was transported to St. Louis University Hospital by Arch Helicopter.

Brian Spenner was extricated from the vehicle by the Hoyleton Fire Department.

Toxicology tests were performed by Styninger. The accident is being investigated by the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, The Washington County Coroner’s Office and by the Illinois State Police.
