Mrs. Alice Eade of rural Addieville departed this life in the Friendship Manor Health Care Center in Nashville on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 5:15 a.m. She had attained the age of 88 years, ten months and one day.
Alice was born in Plum Hill Township, Washington County, on March 9, 1926, the daughter of William and Emilie (nee Hohlt) Ostendorf. She was united in marriage to Kenneth D. Eade in the St. John United Church of Christ in Plum Hill on July 16, 1955, and he preceded her in death on June 25, 1997.
Mrs. Eade was a homemaker and worked on the farm alongside her husband. She had previously worked at the Sandalcraft Shoe Factory in Addieville. She was a life-long and faithful member of the St. John United Church of Christ in Plum Hill where she was an active member of the Women’s Guild. Alice enjoyed going to auctions, collecting salt and pepper shakers, playing Bingo and attending Okawville Rocket basketball games.
Left to mourn her passing is her son, Bill Eade and his wife Annette of rural Addieville; two grandchildren, Alex Eade and his fiancée Olivia Campbell of Okawville and Alyssa Harre and her husband Clint of Nashville; two brothers-in-law, Gordon Eade of Huntsville, Ala., and Richard Eade of Godfrey; nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Melwin and Orwin Ostendorf.
Funeral services were held at the St. John United Church of Christ in Plum Hill on Tuesday, January 13 with Pastor Don Jones officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Should friends desire memorials may be made to the Okawville Rocket Booster Club or the Washington County Partners for Pets and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
