Dorothy C. Neuhaus
Dorothy C. Neuhaus, 95, of Hoyleton, passed away at 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, at Washington County Hospital in Nashville. She was born on November 12, 1919 in Okawville, the daughter of Adolph and Anna Rennegarbe Jacobs. She married Melvin F. Neuhaus on November 5, 1942 in Perryville, Mo. and he passed away on December 7, 2006. Also preceding her in death were her parents; a daughter, Alice; two brothers, Adolph and Harry Jacobs; and two sisters, Edna Borrenpohl and Olivia Winters. Left to mourn her passing are three daughters, Doris (Art) Meier, Marilyn (Gary) Suedmeyer and Dianne Weihe all of Hoyleton; six grandchildren, Brian Suedmeyer, Erica (Matt) Rankin, Craig (Mary Beth) Suedmeyer, Beth (Takashi Tada) Suedmeyer, Andrew (Kelly) Weihe and Ashley Weihe and fiancé Daniel Rossi; six great grandchildren, Colt, Jaxon and Gavin Suedmeyer, Max and Clara Rankin and Livia Tada; sister-in-law, Bernice Harre of Okawville.
Mrs. Neuhaus assisted her husband on the family farm for many years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton where she was active in the Ladies Aid and Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She was also a member of the Washington County Farm Bureau. She enjoyed the outdoors, quilting, playing cards and especially spending time with her family.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 13 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton with Rev. Joshua Theilen officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or LWML Mites. Styninger Funeral and Cremation Chapel in Hoyleton is in charge of arrangements.
