Douglas W. Droste
Douglas William Droste, 54, of Nashville, passed away at 1:07 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2015 at his residence. He was born on December 18, 1960 in Pinckneyville, the son of Paul and Ruth Aldag Droste. He was preceded in death by his parents. Left to mourn his passing is his daughter, Danielle Droste of Nashville and grandson Hayden Droste; two brothers, David (Karen) Droste and Dale (Kim) Droste, both of Nashville; a sister, Mary (David) Schwartz of St. Louis; nephew, Danny (Kelly) Droste of Nashville; five nieces, Heather (Junior) Agnew of Nashville, Dana and Alexis Schwartz of St. Louis, Kristi and Emily Droste of Nasvhille; two aunts, Lillian (Gerhardt) Mueller of St. Louis and Lorene Aldag of Carlyle; as well as numerous cousins and other family members.
Doug was a graduate of Nashville Community High School, Kaskaskia College, and received his Bachelors Degree in Agriculture Business from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He was a farmer and just recently retired as a Pioneer Seed salesman. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Nashville and was a supporter of the Kaskaskia College FFA annual scholarship. He loved to hunt, spending time with his dog Bruno and was a novice golfer. Doug was well known and loved for his wit, humor and kindness. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 15 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Nashville with Rev.’s Matthew Wietfeldt and Paul Cwynar officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Washington County Partners for Pets, the American Heart Association or a college education fund for his grandson Hayden.
