Nelda E. Woker, 92, of Nashville, passed away at 9:50 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Friendship Manor Health Center in Nashville. She was born on May 16, 1922 in Addieville, the daughter of Ben and Emma Lehde Becker. She was baptized on June 11, 1922 and confirmed on April 6, 1936 both at the Zion Evangelical Church in Addieville by Rev. Kurtz. She married LeRoy Woker on July 13, 1941 at Zion in Addieville, and he passed away on December 24, 1983. Also preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Allen; twin daughters in infancy; a sister, Florence (Melvin) Frederking; and a sister-in-law, Hilda Woker. Left to mourn her passing is her son, Carlos (Carol) Woker of Nashville; two grandchildren, Kevin Woker of Nashville and Kimberly (Andy) Alfeldt of Hendersonville, Tenn.; two great granddaughters, Madison and Abigail Alfeldt; three nieces, Gwen Klingenberg, Glenda Recker and Lisa DeBruine; along with a brother-in-law, Irwin Woker.

Mrs. Woker worked as an attendant at the Quick Clean Laundry in Nashville for 23 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Nashville where she was active in the Ladies Aid, Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and taught Sunday School for 25 years.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Nashville with Rev.’s Matthew Wietfeldt and Paul Cwynar officiating. Burial will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Church cemetery in Nashville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church cemetery.
