Are you ready to get out of the house? Do you need a mid-winter break? St. Charles Parish in DuBois has a solution to those mid-winter blues. Come out for a wonderful evening of food, dancing, socializing, raffles, and bidding on some great auction items.

St. Charles is hosting the annual Snowball Dance and Auction on Saturday, January 17 at the KC Hall in DuBois. If you missed the ad in last week’s paper, you may contact Judy Pieszchalski (618-214-7209) for details of time, cost, and how to purchase advance tickets. Advance tickets may be purchased until Friday evening. Tickets purchased on Saturday will be for the at door price of $20 A drawing for $200, $100 and $50 will be held for all people purchasing tickets.

After having fried chicken dinners the past two years, we decided it was time to go back to serving hors d’oevres. To satisfy that sweet tooth, an assortment of mini-cheesecakes, brownies, and cookies will be served.

Items to be auctioned at the live auction include a beautiful hand-made quilt, an awesome blanket chest, and a beautiful American Girl Doll.

In addition to bringing the hors d’oevres back, we are also bringing the silent auction back. This is an opportunity for you to bid on some beautiful handmade items, as well as other items that have been donated. There will be a raffle for a “snowflake” adorned with gift cards and certificates from a variety of restaurants totaling more than $300.00.

For your dancing pleasure, One Night Stand will be providing the music from 8:00p.m. until 12:00a.m. For your listening pleasure prior to the dance, we will be featuring the talents of one of our own youth, Hannah Zyk. So mark your calendars for this Saturday, January 17. And don’t forget to check out the ad in last week’s paper.
