Okawville Gymnast Named Champion
Zoe Todd, the 11-year-old daughter of Paul and Heather Todd, was chosen as the All-Around Champion at the 2015 St. Jude Benefit Gymnastics Meet at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont Jan. 10. The Modified Capital Cup formatted meet, hosted by GymNasti Gymnastics, featured over 2,300 gymnasts. The meet in its 24th year has raised over $1 million for St. Jude’s Research Center in Memphis, Tenn.
Todd, a fifth grader at Okawville Grade School, was named All-Around Champion with a combined score of 37.375. She scored a 9.275 on vault, a 9.25 on the floor exercise for eighth place, a 9.4 on the balance beam for third place, and a 9.45 on the uneven bars for first place.
As a Level 7 gymnast, Todd practices approximately twenty hours a week at Midwest Twisters in O’Fallon under the coaching of Mickey Orr.
Todd’s next competition is Saturday, January 24, at the King Arthur Invitational hosted by Gymnastics X-Calibur at the Legends Sportsplex in Bourbonnais.
