All eyes were on Shirley Hagene as she demonstrated how to make Decorative Garnishes and Appetizers at the January Lamplighters meeting, which was held at the home of Mary McClay. The ladies also enjoyed sampling the tasty appetizers Shirley made. A floral garnish can add color and elegance to a dinner plate but one should keep in mind that just because a flower is served with food does not mean it is edible as some taste bad and some are poisonous.
After the meeting was adjourned Mary McClay served delicious refreshments of home made ice cream, angel food cake, iced tea, and coffee.
Lamplighters next meeting will be Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. in the home of Shirley Hagene. The health department will present the lesson on a Gluten Free Diet. Anyone is welcome to attend this meeting.
