Dorothy Shook, nee Evans, 80, of Freeburg, born February 7, 1934, in Ashley, passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 with her family at her side.
Mrs. Shook enjoyed cooking, reading, and shopping. She was known to be an excellent cook. She liked to camp and travel with her children. Dorothy was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Freeburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Emma Evans; brothers Earl Jr. and Harold Evans; her first husband, Lloyd Grisham, who passed away October 29, 1953; her second husband, Nolan D. Shook, who passed away September 6, 1993; and her grandson, Mason D. Dempsey, who passed away January 4, 2005.
Surviving are her children, Kathryn Barton of Freeburg, Jean (Randall) Dempsey of Breese, Nolan (Connie) Shook of Freeburg, Mary (Robert) Nolte of Upper St. Clair, Pa., and Kimberly (Edward) Clark of Breese; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her brother, William Evans; sisters-in-law; brother-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 6, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 7, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Freeburg.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 7, at the funeral home with Rev. Earl Crecelius officiating. Burial will follow at Masonic Cemetery, Nashville.
