Janice Thompson of Nashville departed this life at her residence in Nashville on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 2:10 a.m. She had attained the age of 57 years, two months and five days.
Mrs. Thompson was born on November 26, 1957 in Pinckneyville, the daughter of Stanley and Elaine (Vogt) Schmale. She was united in marriage to Rodney Thompson on October 30, 1986 in Ashley, and he survives her passing.
Janice worked as an activity aide at Washington County Hospital in Nashville. She was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Nashville. Janice loved working in the yard, gardening and spending time with her family and her dog, Summer.
Left to mourn her passing is her husband, Rodney Thompson of Nashville; her son, Dylan Thompson of Hoboken, N.J.; her daughter, Mikayla Thompson of Champaign; a sister, Sue Schmale of Nashville; other relatives and numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Per the wishes of Janice, cremation was performed. There will be no public services.
Should friends desire memorials may be made to a college fund set up for Mikayla Thompson or Washington County Relay for Life and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
