Chamber Directors Meet

The Nashville Chamber of Commerce met Wednesday, Feb. 18.

Director Doris Povolish reported that there are 64 members signed up for this year and 11 are either new or have come back after not being a member for the past year or longer.

They are 2 Antique Brothers, Access Healthcare & Wellness, Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois, Jean McLaughlin, Lacey’s Barbershop, Hillbilly BBQ, Miller Plumbing & Heating, Saint Mary’s Good Samaritan Nashville Family Health, Precision Soya, Rachel Kried Photography and Regions Bank, so welcome or welcome back to them.

The general membership will be asked whether they want the annual golf outing in the Spring like this past year or in the Fall, like it has been in the past.

It will be a 9-hole event on a weekday afternoon or evening, as it has been in the past. Be looking for an email about this.

There will be another Gateway Grizzlies Day for Nashville and the details will be coming in the near future.

Ideas are being finalized for the Spring Madness event on April 17 in Nashville, but if anyone has some ideas, call Povolish at 327-3700.

The Chicken & Beer Dance is on Saturday night at the Nashville American Legion Hall with doors opening at 7 p.m. and the Beaucoup Bottom Band starting up at 8 p.m.

Get your tickets at the Chamber Office. The rest of the meeting was spent on revising part of the bylaws, something that hasn’t been done in 17 years.
