Nashville Wins Academic Challenge At KC


Nashville finished first at the annual Academic Challenge Contest at Kaskaskia College on Feb. 3.

Seventeen district high schools were in competition in the areas of Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering Graphics, English, Math, and Physics.

Individual students from Nashville who won awards were Lucas Morgan (2nd place – biology) and Mackenzie Wells (3rd place – biology); Alex Orr (3rd place – chemistry); Joseph Blumenstock (2nd place – engineering graphics) and Ryan Kell (2nd place – engineering graphics).

Students Lucas Morgan and Mackenzie Wells received a credit hour scholarship to attend Kaskaskia College for high test scores.

The varsity team moves on to the sectional competition at McKendree Unversity on Monday, March 9.
