Mrs. Dolly Isringhaus of Okawville departed this life in the Washington County Hospital in Nashville on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 1 a.m. She had attained the age of 83 years and 15 days.
Dolly was born in Oakdale Township on February 25, 1932, the daughter of William and Ruby (nee Huff) Magerkurth. She was baptized and confirmed in the Zion United Church of Christ in Addieville. Dolly was united in marriage to Warren G. Isringhaus on August 26, 1950 at Zion Church, and he preceded her in death on June 28, 2005.
Mrs. Isringhaus was an active member of the Olive Branch Lutheran Church in rural Okawville, having taught Sunday School for 18 years. She also held many church offices and served on numerous church committees over the years. She was a member of the Lutheran Women Missionary League as well as a member of the Washington County Farm Bureau. Dolly was a homemaker and a cook’s assistant at Okawville Grade School for 6 years until her retirement. She was also a volunteer at the Okawville Food Pantry for more than 15 years.
Left to mourn her passing is her son, Charles “Chuck” Isringhaus of Okawville; two sisters, Verna Kruski of Sparta and Judy Springs and husband Don of Coulterville; three nieces, Karen (Patrick) Trouart of Springfield, Betty (Wayne) Schmitz of Red Bud, and Carol (Robert) Lohman of Venedy; five nephews, Walter (Cheryl) Kruski of Rochester, Ted Kruski of Sparta, Jason Springs of Coulterville, Loyd (Geralyn) Isringhaus of Okawville and Glen (Rhonda Faye) Isringhaus also of Okawville; numerous great nieces and great nephews; cousins and a host of friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lois Elaine Isringhaus who died on March 13, 1953; four brothers-in-law, Walter Kruski and Orvy, Armin and Grover Isringhaus; three sisters-in-law, Elaine, Dorothy and Vera Isringhaus and a nephew, Leslie Isringhaus in infancy.
Funeral Services will be held from the Olive Branch Lutheran Church in rural Okawville on Thursday, March 12 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Hans Trinklen officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Okawville on Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Thursday from 7:30 a.m. until 9 a.m. then at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service hour.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Olive Branch Lutheran Church, the Okawville Senior Center or to the Family Hospice and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
