Dorothy M. White
Mrs. Dorothy M. White, of DuBois slipped through heaven’s gates surrounded by her family at her residence in DuBois on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 6:45 p.m. She had attained the age of 84 years, eight months and 22 days.
Mrs. White was born on June 13, 1930 in DuBois, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Ackerman) Ellermeyer. She was united in marriage to Curtis White on September 30, 1950 at St. Johns United Church of Christ in DuQuoin, and he survives her passing.
Dorothy was a wonderful, caring, farming wife, mom and grandma. She retired from cooking for more than 35 years at the DuBois Center. Dorothy loved tending to her flowers, mowing the lawn and sitting in the swing with her husband in the summertime. As a farmer’s wife, Dorothy was often cussing the weather, so now maybe God will put her in charge of it! She was a member of St. Mark’s United Church of Christ in DuBois and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 65 years, Curtis White of DuBois; two daughters, Sharon White and close friend Julia Wagner of Asheville, N.C. and Stacey Little of Centralia; a son, Terry White and wife Joyce of DuBois; a granddaughter, Elyse Sledge of Mt. Vernon; three grandsons, Jake Little of Centralia, Lane Liggett of DuBois and Erien White and wife Haley of DuBois; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Emma Kramm.
