Letter: District 49 Open House For Hoyleton Students On April 13

Superintendent’s Report-Nashville #49

March 2015

Dear Nashville #49 Community:

At a special meeting that was held on March 3, the Regional Board of Trustees unanimously voted to annex Hoyleton School District #29 into Nashville C.C.S.D. #49. This was the final step of a long process that started several months ago when the Hoyleton Board of Education voted to dissolve their district. A copy of the annexation feasibility report can still be viewed on our website at www.nashville49.org.

Beginning on July 1, 2015, the Hoyleton School District will officially become a part of Nashville #49. The students of Hoyleton will be eligible to attend Nashville #49 for the first time beginning with the 2015-2016 school year. As I am sure that you can imagine, there will be quite a bit of planning and changes that will come with this merger. Both districts are currently working on those changes and all of the students affected by this will be put in the forefront of any decision that is made.

Nashville #49 will be hosting a Hoyleton #29 Family Night on Monday, April 13th from 4:30 PM-8:00 PM. This event will be open to any family living in Hoyleton who would be eligible to attend Nashville #49 next year. Attendees can tour the facility, meet with faculty and staff members, learn more about our programs and activities, and ask questions. More specific information will be made available in the upcoming weeks.

On behalf of Nashville #49, I would like to officially welcome Hoyleton #29 into our district. I look forward to meeting all of the families and students. Please feel free to contact me at 618-327-3055 x. 203 or mbrink@nashville49.org if you have any questions.

Boy’s Basketball State Champs

Nashville #49 would like to congratulate the boy’s basketball team on winning the state tournament held at Rend Lake College. The team set a new school record with 27 total wins during their undefeated season. Coach Will Reinburg was also recently named the IBCA Coach of the Year for District 20. He will be honored at a ceremony to be held at Illinois State University on May 2. Congratulations again to Coach Reinburg, Coach Heseman, and the Junior Hornets for bringing the Class M state championship trophy back to Nashville!
