Betty Ann Brostmeyer, age 79, of Tamaroa, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 1:47 p.m. in her home.
Betty was born on March 3, 1936 in Pinckneyville, a daughter to Edward P. and Emma (Walkenhorst) Mohr. On March 16, 1957, she married Euclid Brostmeyer in St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, and he preceded her in death on September 11, 2014 after 56 years of marriage. She was a homemaker, enjoyed caring for farm animals, worked on the dairy farm with her husband for over 50 years, and served as the janitor at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, for eight years. She enjoyed helping with story hour at church, was an avid member of the Home Extention after retirement and loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her son, Bill (Melissa) Brostmeyer of Tamaroa; her daughter, Carol (Don) LePere of Ava; three brothers, Carl (Mary Ann) Mohr, Robert (Ann) Mohr, and Edward Dean (Pat) Mohr; three sisters, Deloris (Bill) Bender, Mary (Charles) Greer, and Emma Jean (Terry) Johnson; two brothers-in-law, Bill Kendrick and Augie (Sandy) Epplin; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Mohr; four grandchildren, Annette Brostmeyer, Amber Brostmeyer, Willie LePere and Blaine LePere; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a granddaughter, Amanda Brostmeyer; a brother, Russell Mohr; three sisters, Martha Kendrick, Dorothy Storz and Laura Epplin; and two brothers-in-law, Leo Storz and David Blythe.
Funeral services were held at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, on Saturday, March 14, with Reverend Cindy Bean officiating. Interment was in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ or Celtic Hospice.
