The family and friends of LaVerne Bordewisch Brinkmann celebrated her 80th birthday with an open house on March 7, 2015 at the Dupo Community Center in Dupo, IL with a dinner at twelve noon, with 150 family and friends from Ohio, Virginia, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Missouri and Illinois.
LaVerne was born at rural Nashville on March 9, 1935, the daughter of Clifford and Alma Bordewisch, nee Weissenborn, where they lived on the John Grattendick farm; The Granddaughter of Fred Bordwisch of Okawville, all deceased. She had a brother, Clifford Jr. and wife Marie of Virginia (deceased), a sister Viola and husband (Klause Linke, deceased) and twin sisters Sharon and husband Gary Donnell & Karon and husband Roy Bicklein all of Waterloo.
LaVerne married Paul H. Brinkmann (deceased) of Waterloo on October 29, 1955. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2005.
Paul and LaVerne have two sons Paul (Jr.) and wife Kimberly of St. Louis, and Jeffery and wife Jan of Dupo. LaVerne has two awesome granddaughters, Christie Brinkmann of Glen Garbon and Courtney Brinkmann of Collinsville.
LaVerne enjoys genealogy, who with her husband Paul had researched and written 8 family tree books of the Bordewischs and Brinkmanns over the last 25 or 30 years. LaVerne really enjoys traveling with her family, crafting, reading and spending time with her family.
