NCHS Scholar Bowl, Olympiad Teams Headed To State
Eight students from the Olympiad Team at Nashville Community High School recently qualified for the state competition of the Team Quest Challenge for the ninth year in a row. Out of the top teams from Arcola to the south, the teams from NCHS placed first and third. In order to qualify for this event, the team first had to qualify in the regional and then the sectional competition. In the Team Quest program, groups of four students demonstrate their ability to work together. During the competition, teams are asked to solve problems in many areas of academic instruction. Team Quest includes activities in music, art, geography, language arts, foreign language, science, and mathematics. Teams are challenged to apply their knowledge to real-life problems incorporating creativity, imagination, and engineering into the events. The first place team (TOP RIGHT) was Aaron Czajkowski, Madison Frerker, Kelsie Klingenberg and Tyler Williamson. The team that finished third (BOTTOM RIGHT) was Alex Orr, Alli Kellerman, Alyssa Lohmann, and Mackenzie Wells. The teams are coached by Haeli Williamson.
