Basketball Awards Announced

Three Nashville basketball players have been selected to compete in the 37th Annual Benton Lion’s Club All-Star Basketball Classic Friday, March 27 at Rend Lake College.

Hornet players Daniel Thorson and Dylan Mueller will play as part of the Purple Team coached by Pinckneyville Panthers’ coach Bob Waggoner.

From the Hornettes, Jordi Harre was selected for the Purple Team to be coached by Bill Green of Herrin High School.

In other postseason basketball news, the Southern Illinois River-to-River Conference recently announced the All Conference Team.

Mueller and Thorson were also selected to this team, along with Royce Newman.
