Nashville Weightlifters Compete At Murphysboro
Bryce Paszkiewicz had a record setting day at the Murphysboro Power Meet last weekend.
In the 132-pound division, Paszkiewicz set meet records in the squat (290), bench (195), deadlift (400) and total (885).
His big day earned him the Top Lifter Award at the meet, as well as 20 of his team’s 23 points at the event. Overall, the Hornets finished fifth.
“This was a big accomplishment for Bryce,” Nashville coach Tim Kuhn said. “He hurt his knee a year ago, so for him to perform like this is amazing.”
Paszkiewicz already set meet record in the event last year in the 123-pound division with a deadlift of 340 and a total lift of 765.
In the junior varsity event, Ross Gomora finished third overall in the 148-pound division.
