Verlya Arlene Carver of Okawville departed this life in the Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 3:42 p.m. She had attained the age of 75 years, six months and 25 days.
Verlya was born in Central City, Ky., on August 18, 1939, the daughter of Andrew and Bessie (nee Sears) Wilkins. She was united in marriage to Earl Carver on April 17, 1980 in Tennessee and he preceded her in death on June 11, 2003.
Mrs. Carver worked in the housekeeping department at the Original Springs Hotel in Okawville for 13 years until her retirement. She enjoyed going on shopping trips and she loved her puppy dogs.
Left to mourn her passing are her two children, Robert Dale Bethel of Rushville and Tammy Arlene Bethel of Greenville, Ky.; five grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a host of good friends and neighbors. Verlya was very much loved and will be missed by her family.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
In accordance with the wishes of Mrs. Carver, cremation was performed.
A memorial service will be held from the United Methodist Church in Okawville on Saturday, March 28 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Darryl Young officiating. Interment of ashes will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Okawville.
Should friends desire, memorials should be made to the charity of the donor’s choice and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
