Holy Week church schedule:

Maundy Thursday Service – 7 p.m. at Zion UCC

Good Friday Tenebrae Service – 7 p.m. at St John UCC-Johannisburg

Easter Festival Worship with communion at 10 a.m. An Easter breakfast will be served from 8:30 to 9:30 am.

Receiving the Rite of Confirmation on Palm Sunday at Zion UCC were Elizabeth Ann Eichenlaub daughter of Karen and Mark Eichenlaub; Owen Scott Picard son of Cyndi and Bart Picard; and Jakob Riley Szabelski son of Jennifer and Ronnie Szabelski. Each of the confirmands were honored with a dinner attended by family and friends.

Zion’s annual Drawdown on Saturday night was another success. This year the proceeds will go one third each to the Addieville Community Club,

Nashville State Theatre and Zion’s projects like Meals on Wheels, After Prom Party, Mission trips and donations.

Last Sunday evening Zion hosted the Dartball banquet and tournament. St John UCC, Plum Hill won the tournament.

Susan Diercks, former Addieville postmaster, attended the Friday night Fish Fry at the ACC. She visited with Paul and Jeannette Segelhorst.

Upcoming events:

April 7 is Election Day. The polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

April 10 is the last day to purchase a “Purple Bow” to paint our village purple for Relay for Life. Contact Darlene Ostendorf.

April 11 is Electronic Recycling at Nashville Community Center 9 a.m. to noon.

Reminder: County Highway 4 north out of Addieville is closed by I-64 overpass for resurfacing. The closure will last approximately another two weeks. So you will need to make a detour.
