The Friends of the Nashville Public Library Spring Book Sale is set for April 23-25. The preview sale takes place Thursday, April 23 from 5 – 8 p.m. in the library. There is a $5 admission charge on the night of the preview sale, but people have first selection on materials for sale. Members of the Friends of the Library organization, who are lifetime members or have paid their membership dues for 2015, receive free admission on preview nights for book sales. In addition, lifetime members also receive a ten percent discount on total purchases at the book sales.
There is no charge for the regular book sale on Friday, April 24, from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and on Saturday, April 25, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Beginning at noon on Saturday, there will be a bag sale for all books, except for newer, higher-priced books. The Washington County Master Gardeners’ Spring Plant Swap will also be taking place in the west parking lot adjacent to the library on Saturday morning, April 25.
The book sale offers many great buys on used books, with many books in like-new condition. Some records, videos, audio books, and music CDs will also be for sale. Regular hardback books sell for 50 cents each or three for $1. Regular paperback books sell for 25 cents each or five for $1. Items in like-new condition range from 50 cents to $3 and are specially marked.
The library will accept donations for the book sale until Tuesday, April 21. Books must be clean and in good condition. No textbooks, encyclopedia sets, or Reader’s Digest Condensed Books will be accepted. These items do not sell and create extra work for volunteer workers. Please do not leave books outside the library when the library is closed. The library’s regular hours are Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m.-7 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The Nashville Public Library is located at 219 East Elm Street in Nashville.
