Ralph McTall of Irvington called the Nashville News and told us that the man in “Happy Little Birds”, the Classic Photo from April 15, was Kenneth McKinzie, the area’s Regional Superintendent of Schools in the 1970s.
“I was his assistant for a few years, said McTall, who estimated that the photo was shot in 1973 or 1974 and may have been taken by him. McKinzie was looking at art submitted for contests at the Washington County Fair.
McTall also mentioned the two boys, only partially identified , pictured in the April 8 Classic Photo, “Jr. Leaders’ Conference,” stating that the first one was Blaine Fortmeyer and the second was Gale Koelling, both of Irvington.
