Hornet Tracksters Finish 7th At Herrin Invitational

Nashville finished seventh out of 13 teams at the Herrin Invitational last Wednesday.

The Hornets’ lone first place finish went to the 3,200-meter relay team of Patrick Neill, Ryan Kell, Jackson Pierce and Jordan Love.

The freshman/sophomore track team competed Saturday at the Central F/S Invitational.

Brandon Schnitker had a big day, winning the 800-meter and 1,600-meter runs. He was also part of the winning 3,200-meter relay team alond with Derryn Holmes, Ray Bailey and Caleb Zgonina.

Ethan Reid also had a win for Nashville in the high jump.

Weather permitting, the track season will begin in earnest this week. The Hornets hosted the Nashville Invitational Tuesday and will compete in the Greenville Relays Friday. On Monday, they travel to Breese for the Central Tri-Co Invitational.

The girls’ team will take part in the Mascoutah Invitational Wednesday and the Greenville Relays Friday before joining the boys’ team at the Central Tri-Co Invitational Monday. The Hornettes’ turn to host the Nashville Invitational is scheduled for April 30.
