Seeking Volunteers for Robotics Club

Are you good at building things by looking at a picture? Do you have a childhood enjoyment of building with LEGOs®? Do you like to experiment with hands on technology activities? If so, this club is for you! 4-H provides the training to help you succeed as a leader with our youth! We would love to get a robotics club started and have access to some grant money to purchase some robotics kits but we need some adults who can lead this club!

The robotics project in 4-H covers robotics basics. Youth learn what a robot is, how to build one using LEGO®, and how to program a LEGO® robot to interact with its environment via touch, sound, light, and ultrasonic sensors. The project is designed for individual members, although many 4-H members decide to complete it in small groups.

Cost for this SPIN club membership is $7.00 for non-4-H members. This fee will allow you access to all benefits that a regular 4-H member receives. This club is open to both 4-H and non-4-H members. For more information on how you can join this club, please contact Program Coordinator, Amanda Fox Clark at the Washington County Extension Office at 327-8881.

Master Gardener Plant Swap

Washington County Master Gardeners will be hosting their annual Plant Swap and Sale on April 25 at the Nashville Public Library starting at 8 a.m. Local residents are encouraged to bring plants to trade, or to come out and shop.

This will be a great opportunity to talk gardening with the Master Gardeners if you have questions about your plants or getting involved in the Master Gardener program.
