Following months of participation and anticipation, Washington County Relay For Life was held this Saturday, April 25 at the Nashville Grade School.

The event ran from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., with a jam packed schedule of events both entertaining and heartfelt.

The first laps of the relay were the survivor’s lap. The caregivers lap and the team lap.

Entertainment included Sonya’s Gotta Dance, the NCHS Percussion Ensemble, Jaime’s Tumbling, the NCHS Band, Zumba with Ambaro Wolden, Rhythm Effects Dancer, and Happy Hour Karaoake with Tony Waters.

Emotions came to a head with the Luminaria Ceremony held once it got dark, including a reading of all those who the luminarias were purchased in memory of.
