Worth telling tales about, LEFT, Rylan Williamson, 6, shows off a bluegill he caught at the Washington County Sportsman Club Kid’s Fishing Derby, held Saturday, May 2, at Memorial Park in Nashville, while RIGHT, Lucas Knepp, shows off a channel catfish. For photos of the derby’s two grand champions, see page A4.

The grand champions of the 42nd annual Washington County Sportsmen Club’s Kids Fishing Derby were LEFT, Carson Hale, 10, who caught the longest catfish at 24 1/4 inches, and RIGHT, Elley Szopinski, 13, who caught the longest bluegill, at eight inches long. In addition to these two, awards were given out to the top six place winners for both bluegill and catfish in every age group, and all 134 kids who participated got a prize as well.
