A win over Pinckneyville last Tuesday clinched at least a share of the River-to-River Conference championship for the Nashville Hornets.
Ryan Brink through a complete game and the Nashville batters pummeled Pinckneyville pitching with 11 hits on the way to a 12-2 win.
The Hornets set the tone early, plating five runs in the first inning. Hayden Heggemeier walked and scored, Dylan Mueller doubled, and Jaris Dalman, Brady Bultman and Andrew Kash all had knocks to put Nashville out front early.
Brink made those runs stand up. The Panthers touched him for two runs in the bottom of the second inning, but that would be it, as Brink shut them out over the final five innings to record the win. He finished with ten strikeouts and scattered six hits.
