The May 5, meeting of the Nashville Ladies Golf League was held at Burettas following a golf scramble.
The meeting was called to order by co-president, Charlene Stiegman. Minutes from the April meeting were read by secretary Cathy Shew. The treasurers report was read by new treasurer Rikki Heggemeier.
Old Business: Discussion was brought up about preparation for Ladies Tournament on Saturday, June 13. The committee sheet was passed around for members to sign up for duties for the tournament. Marilyn emphasized that all club members need to volunteer to make this tournament work. The rules for the tournament sheet was reviewed to determine if any changes need to be made. Marilyn stated she has received several entry fees for morning and afternoon tee times.
New Business: Since the league has six new members, ordering new shirts for all league members was discussed. It was brought up that Virgil, the course superintendent, wondered if any of the members wanted to join the USGA. If so applications and handicaps need to be sent in.
The Okawville/Nashville Challenge is usually held on a Tuesday, but Okawville has requested a different night since it interferes with their Tuesday ladies league. The committee will get some different dates and make the decision as to when it will be hosted.
The Club Tournament and Guest Day were also discussed. Some members suggested changing the club tournament to September instead of August. The comnmittees for these tournaments will gather suggestions and make the decision.
The Scramable prizes were as follows: Low Score – Tina Labusier and Joyce Sheridan; Low Putts – Barb Crouse, Palma Stiegman and Myrt Oexeman; Most Bogies – Marge Curry, Cathy Shew and Rikki Heggemeier.
