Wilson Wins Art Competition

Nashville resident and Gateway East Artist Guild member Philip Wilson, center of photo, won the monthly art competition Wednesday, May 6.

Michael Anderson’s art critique points to some of the outstanding features Wilson added to his “antiques” watercolor painting.

Assisting in this month’s critique on right is David Cornell.

The monthly member art contest is one of the important guild activities each month.

Members are able to learn how they too can improve their work because of the art critiques. Points are given to winners each month and at the end of the year the “Artist of the Year” award is announced and given a plaque.

Monthly meetings are 6 p.m. every first Wednesday of the month at PSOP/SWIC Building, 201 North Church St, downtown Belleville. Look for Gateway East Artist Guild tent at Art on the Square, Belleville May 15-17.
