With three more wins over the final week of the regular season, the Nashville Hornettes reached the 30-win plateau for the fourth straight season.
Nashville beat O’Fallon 11-2 last Wednesday for the Hornettes’ 30th win of the year.
Maci Ingram went seven strong innings, and Karly Stanowski hit a three-run homer and knocked in four runs on the day.
Jordi Harre and Brooke Burcham led off the first with consecutive singles, and Diedra Holzhauer and Stanowski drove them home later in the inning to stake Nashville to an early lead.
The played small ball for their third run, as Paige Kasten reached on a fielder’s choice, stole second and came home on Harre’s run scoring single.
Nashville blew the game open with four runs in the fourth. Jordan Stiegman led off with a single in front of Alli Liske’s double and Kasten’s RBI single. Two batters later, Burcham hit a two-run single and Emily Thompson hit a sacrifice fly to make it 7-0 game.
