Staci Lynn Joseph, 35, of Merritt Island, Fla., formerly of Tamaroa, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at her residence.
Staci had graduated from Pinckneyville High School in 1999 and from SIU Carbondale in 2004. She had worked at WSIL News 3 from 2001 until 2007. She then worked at Leading Edge Insurance in Colorado Springs, Colo., and KBIQ Radio in Colorado Springs. She was a member of East Coast Christian Center. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed making people laugh. She enjoyed crafts, antique shopping, planning events and generally making everyone feel special. Most of all, she enjoyed being a Mommy.
She was born April 26, 1980 in DuQuoin, the daughter of Brad and Sondra (Youngman) Bunton.
She married Matthew Henry Joseph on August 11, 2012 at Colorado Springs, and he survives.
She is survived by her husband of Merritt Island; one son, James Joseph of Merritt Island; her mother and step father, Sondra and Ronnie Kuberski of Tamaroa; five brothers and sisters, Rachel Gibson of Carbondale, Samantha Arendell of DuQuoin, Blain Bunton of DuQuoin, Jaclyn Kuberski of Tamaroa and Josh Kuberski of Tamaroa; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father; grandparents, Bill and Shirley Bunton; and grandmother, Martha Web Steinberg.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 21 at the Searby Funeral Home in DuQuoin with Pastor Greg Darling officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in DuQuoin.
Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at DuQuoin.
Friends may make memorials to her son James’ Education Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
