Nancy Russell, Rick True and Pat Hardesty of the Richview Cemetery Association along with Dennis Gambill of the United Methodist Church put together the first ever Memorial Day Observance in the history of Richview.
More than 50 people gathered at the Richview Cemetery on Monday to memorialize those that gave all. T
he ceremony began with the Color Guard consisting of Johnnie Mayberry, U.S. Marine Corp; Gerri Philipps, U.S. Air Force; and Steve Copple, U. S. Marine Corp.
Guest of Honor Speaker was Robert ‘Bob’ Hamil; U. S. Army. Bill Strong, U. S. Navy led the Pledge of Allegiance. Julie Brake sang God Bless America and America the Beautiful. A poem was read by Patty Hardesty and photos were taken by Charles Calvin. The invocation and Benediction was given by Pastor Dennis Gambill. The wreath was donated by Jane Nelms.
