Mrs. Betty Doelling of Nashville departed this life at Friendship Manor Healthcare Center in Nashville, on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 4:40 P.M. She had attained the age of 86 years, three months and nine days.
Mrs. Doelling was born on February 24, 1929 in Marion, the daughter of Walter and Della (Beek) Stroh. She was united in marriage to Elwood E. Doelling on July 22, 1950 in Nashville, and he preceded her in death on February 8, 1981.
Betty was employed at Huegley Elevator, Washington County Butane and Nashville Grade School as a secretary/bookkeeper. She also worked with her husband, Elwood at State Farm Insurance as his secretary. Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she was the pianist and treasurer for many years. She was also a member of the Washington County Hospital Auxiliary and was active with Meals on Wheels, all in Nashville. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, music and above all, her family.
Left to mourn her passing are her two daughters, Susan Weihe and her husband Earl of Centennial, Colo., and Becky Joellenbeck and her husband Scott of Champaign; four grandchildren, Tom Weihe and his wife Leah, Matt Weihe and his wife Katie all of Colorado, Megan Mingie and her husband Aaron of Florida and Trevor Joellenbeck of Ohio; four great grandchildren, Owen, Connor and Sienna Weihe of Colorado and Emma Mingie of Florida; a sister-in-law, Hazel Boeschen of Nashville; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in Nashville on Saturday, June 6 with Rev. Scott Sharp officiating and with interment in the St. Paul Cemetery in Nashville.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville, in charge of arrangements.
