June 9 found the Red Room at the Hoyleton Community Club filled to capacity as Lions’ President, Virgil (Butch) Spenner opened the monthly meeting welcoming the members and guests to the Hoyleton Lions ‘Ladies Night.’ The widows of former Lions members were treated to a buffet dinner compliments of the current Lions’ members.
Janette Storck, was presented a plaque and floral bouquet in recognition of her husband, Don, and his service to the Lions.
Craig Suedmeyer was inducted into the Club and he was sponsored by James Koelling.
President Spenner announced the Lion of the Year being Marvin Haake.
Ralph Michael, serving as Secretary, issued the oath of office to the 2015-2016 officers. Accepting: Mark Styninger, President; Carl Herrmann, 1st Vice-President; James Koelling, 2nd Vice-President; 3rd Vice-President, Tim Schnitker; Secretary: Kurt Michael; Treasurer: Tony Smith; Tail Twister: Wayne Machhoff; Membership Chairman: Gertrude Holle; 2 year Directors: Earl Schnitker and John Bassen; 4 year Directors: Matt Kessler and Ralph Michael.
Upon being passed the gavel, Styninger noted the club has had a prosperous year and will continue their service projects into the future.
