Mrs. Rose Mary Banaszek of Ashley departed this life at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Centralia on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 1:45 a.m. She had attained the age of 85 years, four months and six days.
Mrs. Banaszek was born on January 27, 1930 in Ashley, the daughter of Walter and Elizabeth (Bauer) Kasban. She was united in marriage to Charles Walter Banaszek on October 6, 1953 in Radom, and he preceded her in death on July 15, 1997.
Rose Mary worked at the Washington County Vocational Workshop in Nashville for many years. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom where she was involved with the Mothers Club and the Altar and Rosary Sodality. Rose Mary loved gardening, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren.
Left to mourn her passing are her two daughters, Mary Hake of Vandalia, and Ann Reynolds and her husband Tim of Hillsboro; a brother, Louis Kasban and his wife Sandy of Ashley; a sister, Theresa Gill and her husband Bob of Ashley; three grandchildren, Mitchell, Emily and Dalton Reynolds; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Joe Kasban and a sister, Betty Kujawa.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom on Wednesday, June 17 at 10 a.m. with Fr. Oliver Nwachukwu officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Should friends desire mass offerings or memorials may be made to the St. Michael Cemetery and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
