Oh my, our yards are really looking scruffy. I just want to be able to mow again without rutting up the lawn. I don’t know about the crops, hopefully the rain will stop and the sun and wind will dry the fields before there is too much damage. Sure hope the sweet corn will be okay, can’t wait for some good old corn on the cob and fresh garden juicy ripe tomatoes.

The Royal Neighbors, Chapter 4517, met at the Lantern Pub for their regularly scheduled lunch and meeting. Those attending were: Chris Newcomb, Scharon McCoy, Miss Alexis Thomas (Great Granddaughter of Scharon) Sharon Cameron, Sue Mayberry, Roma Wood, Mary Ann Ceglinski and myself. Scharon led the group in the ‘Pledge of Allegiance’ and Chris read the minutes of the old meeting followed by the treasurer’s report. A date of September 12 for set for the annual Matching Funds Event. This date is also a day when Ashley will be having their flea market, which should be good for both groups. Set up for the event will be the Thursday evening before at 6. It was decided to have the raffle on the specialty baskets again. On other business, Scharon will call SAFE and set up a time for out group to deliver 10 Royal Neighbor Teddy Bears for the children. The next scheduled meeting will be on 21 August, same time – same place.

Have you every seen so many bunny rabbits? And, the hummingbirds are just swarming everywhere. I know MLRP is enjoying the view from her window.
