Will it ever end, rain, rain and more rain. At least we were able to get our yards mowed in between the storms; I have yet to get my ditch completely mowed. In spite of all the rain, Richview is looking good.

Lots of ‘happenings’ in Ashley this holiday weekend. Ashley Community Committee has been busy making plans for an enjoyable 4th of July celebration. Tickets are on sale now for a chance to win $500. It’s called ‘Chicken Poop BINGO’, What ever square the droppings land on is the winner. You have until July 5th to get your ticket. Buy a chance to win with only 5 bucks. Tickets are also on sale for a bike, donated by Popecks. Church service will be held at 10 am, in front of the Community Building, bring your lawn chairs. Rainbow Ranch at noon, kids free games at 2 and fireworks at dark. New Heart Fellowship church will have a plate dinner available in the building from 4-7, chicken and dumplings. Chaddy Daddy BBQ will be on hand as well as friends of ACC cooking.

Ashley Library is having a summer reading program starting July 1 and ending August 5, ages 5-12. Opening program is July 1 at 1:00 pm with the story of ‘Picken Chicken’. Closing program is August 5 with Karaoke and awards.

If you have not had a chance to get your raffle tickets for the Richview Cemetery 10th annual fundraiser, contact Nancy Russell, Patty Hardesty or Rick True. Tickets are six for $5.00 on a chance to win a Queen Size hand-stitched quilt. Please give generously. Send your donation to Richview Cemetery Association, PO Box 22, Richview, Illinois, 62877. Tickets will be completed for you, according to the amount of your donation.

My goodness, can’t keep up with the hummingbirds, they are just so busy. The apricots are falling on the ground, time to make the jam, right MLRP?

Happy Birthday number 2 to Ben Niederhofer. Ben celebrated his birthday at Irvington Community building Sunday afternoon.

Ronda Mullenix is teaching a Yoga class on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6pm at the Richview Community Building.

The Richview United Methodist Church has a workday scheduled for July 11th at 10 am.

JESUS IS MY HERO is the theme for this years Vacation Bible School. VBS will be July 13 – 17, from 6-8 pm. Come join the Richview Methodist Church for a SUPER VBS time. There will be games, music, snacks, crafts, and as always, fellowship… Who’s your Superhero?
