June 21

The Sheriff’s Dept. took a report of a burglary from a motor vehicle from a resident of rural Venedy.

The Sheriff’s Dept. took a report of criminal damage to property occurring at a residence in rural Venedy.

The Sheriff’s Dept. took a report of fraud occurring to a resident of rural Venedy.

The Sheriff’s Dept. responded to the Hoyleton Children’s Home for a report of a battery.

June 22

The Sheriff’s Dept. reported that Geoffrey M. Smith, 44, of Coulterville, drove his semi and trailer off of the road and struck the ditch, which overturned the trailer into a field. No injuries were reported.

June 23

The Sheriff’s Dept. arrested Airron L. Boyce, 35, of Centralia, for a Washington County warrant.

The Sheriff’s Dept. assisted the Illinois State Police with a traffic crash on St. Rt. 15 at Co. Hwy. 13.

The Sheriff’s Dept. responded to an address in Venedy for a report of suspicious activity.

The Sheriff’s Dept. took a report of a two vehicle hit-and-run traffic accident on I-64, near the 49 mile marker. A vehicle driven by Anthony Guffey, 29, of Okawville, was struck by a tractor trailer. The trailer failed to stop after the crash. No injuries were reported and Guffey’s vehicle was driven from the scene.

Clarence L. McCarthy, 51, of Herman, Mo. was driving a tractor trailer when a tire blew and the rubber struck a 2014 Hyundai driven by Tommy D. Godwin, 61, of Yale, Iowa. No injuries were reported.

The Sheriff’s Dept. responded to Venedy for a report of suspicious activity.

June 24

The Sheriff’s Dept. returned a phone call to an Oakdale resident regarding an IRS fraud.

The Sheriff’s Dept. responded to I-64 at the 56 mile marker for a motorist assist.

June 25

The Sheriff’s Dept. reported a theft from a motor vehicle from a Marissa resident.

The Sheriff’s Dept. took a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle occurring in rural Venedy.

The Sheriff’s Dept. assisted a motorist on St. Rt. 127 near DuBois Blacktop Rd.

The Sheriff’s Dept. responded to Co. Hwy. 22 and Middle Creek Rd. for a tree in the roadway. Deputies removed the tree.
