What a coincidence for Steve Droege Tuesday, going to Segs place in Venedy for lunch, he encountered a man there from Western France, Henri Mander. He was riding his solar powered or E-Power bicycle for a charity starting out at the home of Greg Lamond in Minneapolis, MN to Cuba. His bike needed repaired, so he was discussing ways to get to a bike shop as by calling a taxi etc. So Steve called his son David for the name of a good bicycle shop and took Henri there. They started working on it but Henri knew what needed to be done, so they allowed him to fix it. Steve brought Henri and the bike back to Segs Place, where he connected his solar panel (which is on a cart) back to the bike and continued on. Lori Segelhorst owner of Segs Place gave him a kooley cup to remember Segs Place on his blog. Where there is now a picture of Lori and Steve. He wanted to get to Sparta by evening and sleep in a motel. He has a tent that he usually sleeps in. The coincidence is Henri was born the same year as Steve, 1960. Both 55 years old and both having suffered a stroke. Henri’s affected his speech and Steve’s affected his left side. David has a Greg Lamond bicycle, which was his first racing bike. Greg has won the Tour De France. One of David’s dreams is to go to the Tour De France someday. Now he really has a strong urge to go as Henri said he’d accompany him as Steve had to him. Just think in our small Village of Venedy we have special happenings.

Did you know? So cool they named it twice, Portland, Maine was the inspiration for Portland, Oregon.
