Many Area Golf Tournaments Coming Soon

Kaskaskia College Annual Foundation Golf Tournament, July 24

Due to weather, the Kaskaskia College Foundation Annual Golf Tournament has been rescheduled for Friday, July 24.

This year’s golf tournament will be held at the Salem Country Club in Salem with a 1:00 p.m. shotgun start. Entry includes lunch at 11:00 a.m., 18 holes of golf with cart, a bag filled with gifts, drinks on the course, special golf events including a hole-in-one prize of $10,000 cash. In addition, there will be closest to the pin and longest putt prizes, and prizes for ladies longest drive, and senior over 65 longest drive. Dinner will be held at 5:30 p.m. with a Smoke Pork Loin Dinner Buffet. Entry fee for the 4-Person Scramble is $125.00 per golfer. Twenty-six Kaskaskia College students were awarded $500.00 scholarships from the proceeds from last year’s tournament. These scholarships were made possible through the proceeds from the 2014 Foundation Golf Tournament.

The Kaskaskia College Foundation was formed over thirty years ago by a group of public-spirited citizens of the area and since that time the Foundation has been committed to providing student opportunities, enriching the quality of teaching and learning, the acquisition of new and emerging technologies, physical improvements and expansion, and broadening opportunities for the visual and the performing arts. The Foundation continually seeks to further the educational endeavors of Kaskaskia College and to enhance the College’s efforts to benefit the community. The Foundation will again be awarding scholarships next year from funds directly earned by this year’s golf tournament.

Addieville Area Jaycees Charitable Golf Tournament, August 2

The Addieville Area Jaycees Club will be holding their golf tournament at the Roland Barkau Memorial Golf Course in Okawville on Sunday, August 2.

Registration will be at 1 p.m., and the tournament starts at 1:30 p.m.

The entry fee will be $75 per person or $300 per team.

Sponsorships are available for businesses and groups as well.

All proceeds from the tournament will go to the Addieville Jaycee’s Charitable Fund.

James “Big O” Ogrzewalla

Memorial Golf Tournament,

August 15

The James “Big O” Ogrzewalla Memorial Golf Tournament has been scheduled for Saturday, August 15, at the Nashville Municipal Golf Course.

This will be a three club tourney and a three person scramble.

The cost per team is $225 and the last day to register is August 7.

This year’s event will feature a Hole-In-One contest with a $10,000 prize.

Past year’s events have helped to provide funding for new seating at the Nashville Community High School auditorium, a dream of Big O’s.

Hospital 4-Person Golf Scramble,

October 2

The Washington County Hospital 4-Person Golf Scramble is scheduled for Friday, October 2, starting with a lunch at 11 a.m. and a shotgun start at noon.

The cost of the event is $75 per person. Sponsorship and tee signs are available.

This event is used to help fund the hospital’s capital projects, and past events have funded the renovation of patient rooms.
