Enrollment at Nashville Community High School dipped this year, according to the enrollment classifications recently announced by the Illinois High School Association.
NCHS’s enrollment had been steady at around 400 students for the last few years, but this year the IHSA pegs Nashville’s enrollment at 380.
The drop in enrollment will not affect the Hornets’ classifications for extracurricular activities, but it is a drop from last year’s total of 410.
Enrollments have been falling steadily for the last few years. The 2011-12 school year saw enrollment dip below 500 for the first time in decades, and the trend has continued in subsequent years. The previous low was in 2013-14 when enrollment was 404.
