Friendly Homemakers Visited By Local Author Deb Obermeier

The Friendly Homemakers HCE unit met on June 4 at Marilyn Suedmeyer’s home. A lesson on “How Our Eating Habits Have Changed as We Age” was led by Elaine Spenner.

The Board Members present gave a report on the Silent Auction held at our Annual Meeting on April 28 at the Okawville Legion Home. We were advised that the International Night will be held at St. Paul’s Church in Nashville.

Marilyn introduced her friend Deb Obermeier to the group. Deb came to promote and sign a book just recently written by her, entitled “A Simple Stitch A Common Thread”.

This is Deb’s first novel, but, according to Deb, not her last. The evening was completed with a scrumptious array of snacks and drinks!

Our HCE unit will meet again on August 6 for an adventure to Salem, checking out the places of interest!
