Nancy S. Barfield

Mrs. Nancy Barfield of Okawville departed this life at her residence on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 7:55 p.m. following an extended illness. She had attained the age of 66 years, five months and 14 days.

Nancy was born in Fairmont City on February 4, 1949, the daughter of Frank and Helen (nee McAnally) Gibson. She was united in marriage to Michael Barfield Sr. in Okawville on June 9, 1984 and he survives her passing.

Mrs. Barfield was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling but most of all loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Left to mourn her passing is her husband Michael Barfield Sr. of Okawville; a son, Michael Barfield Jr. and wife Stephanie of Nashville; three grandchildren; two brothers, Howard Gibson and wife Georgia of Glen Carbon and Tommy Gibson and wife Vodell of Maryville; a brother-in-law; a sister-in-law; other relatives and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Clayton Gibson and a sister, Betty Erlinger.

Funeral services will be held from the Campagna Funeral Home in Okawville on Thursday, July 23 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Nancy Shubert officiating. Interment will be in the St. Barbara Cemetery in Okawville.

Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Okawville on Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Thursday from 7:30 a.m. until the service hour.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
