Lunch At Airport Restaurant For Red Hat Ladies
The Sophisticated Sisters Red Hats of Mt. Vernon invited the Nashville Ruby Red Hats to join them for lunch at the Mt. Vernon Airport Restaurant for the July meeting. We enjoyed a buffet luncheon which included making your own ice cream sundaes. Door prizes were given and fortunately shared by several from each of the clubs.
The restaurant has many war memorabilia on display, which included models of WWII airplanes hanging from the ceiling. The entryway and hall leading to the museum was lined with pictures honoring Jefferson County veterans with a history of each one. The ladies also visited the War Museum which displayed authentic souvenirs of the wars.
This is the second annual meeting of the two groups. Last year Nashville hosted the Sophisticated Sisters at Buretta’s, therefore plans are in the making for the 2016 July meeting again in Nashville.
Attending from Nashville were Karen Lunte, Phyllis Diedrich, Jerry Heggemeier, Laura Paszkiewicz, Betty Renken, Sandy Turner, Marge Rensing and Georgine May.
The regular July meeting of the Ruby Red Hats was a trip to the Blue Springs Restaurant at Highland. The menu included good home style meals with the specialty “mile high” meringue pie. Traveling to Highland that day were Laura Paszkiewicz, Betty Renken, Jerry Heggermeier, Sandy Turner, Judi Heiman, Winona Huckshold, Phyllis Diedrich, Georgine May, Marge Rensing and Helen Bleisch.
